Oohmahnee Animal Sanctuary is a special place where farm animals have found refuge from slaughterhouses and neglectful owners, to live in the comfortable security of a peaceful environment where they are well cared for by loving custodians. Pigs, chickens, goats, rabbits, turkeys, cows, goats and sheep live the good life here. The group of pot-bellied pigs shown below were gathered from pet owners who were unable to properly care for these large animals. The sanctuary recently opened the world's first museum devoted to the humane treatment of farm animals. Many of the staff are vegans and visitors are encouraged to develop compassion for farm animals, innocent and helpless victims of the ruthless industrialization and conglomeration of food-producing enterprises.
