Welcome to my weedpatch - this brilliant burst of fall color in
a garden I designed is the radiant display of several native plants
- called weeds by many people, and wildflowers by some. The red
service berries of this deciduous shrub will provide winter food
to cardinals and other songbirds. To the right are the lovely purple
flowers of an aster offset by its complementary color, the bright
yellow flowers of a grey goldenrod. These perennial plants are tough
and will come back for years, bringing vibrant natural color to
an otherwise dreary landscape.
